Search

Find records by typing keywords in the search bar. TinyTables searches across all visible columns in the current view.
How to search
- Click the Search icon in the toolbar (or press Cmd+F)
- Type your search query
- Results filter in real-time as you type
- Matching cells are highlighted
Search behavior
| Feature | Description |
|---|---|
| Scope | Searches all visible columns in the current view |
| Matching | Case-insensitive, partial match (typing "john" finds "Johnson") |
| Real-time | Results update as you type |
| Highlight | Matching cells are visually highlighted |
Search vs Filter
| Feature | Search | Filter |
|---|---|---|
| Input | Free text query | Structured conditions (field + operator + value) |
| Scope | All columns at once | Specific columns |
| Persistence | Temporary (clears on close) | Saved per view |
| Use case | Quick lookup | Permanent data segmentation |
Use Search for quick ad-hoc lookups. Use Filters for persistent data segmentation that you want saved in the view.
Tip
For large tables (1000+ rows), search is faster than scrolling. Type a name, email, or ID to jump directly to the record.
