Statement / Quote

The Statement block is a display-only element -- it shows text to the respondent but does not collect any input. Use it to add instructions, context, quotes, callouts, or section introductions between questions in your form.

How it works

Unlike input fields, the Statement block has no answer. It renders text on the form page for the respondent to read, then they click Next to continue. No data is collected or stored from this block.

Configuration

SettingDescription
TitleThe main heading text (large, bold)
DescriptionBody text below the title (supports rich text formatting)
Button textCustom label for the Next button (default: "Continue")
ImageOptional image displayed alongside the statement

Rich text support

The description field supports rich text formatting:

  • Bold and italic text
  • Bullet and numbered lists
  • Hyperlinks
  • Line breaks and paragraphs

This lets you add detailed instructions, formatted lists, or linked resources without needing a separate page.

Visual styling

Statements inherit the form's theme (font, colors, background). The title renders as a heading and the description as body text. In Card display mode, a statement fills the entire screen -- making it feel like a dedicated intro or interstitial page.

Common uses

  • Welcome screen -- introduce the form with a title and brief explanation
  • Section introductions -- "Next, we'll ask about your experience..." before a new section
  • Instructions -- explain how to answer the upcoming questions
  • Legal notices -- display privacy disclaimers or data usage notices
  • Thank you message -- a closing statement before submission (or use the built-in Thank You page)
  • Quotes and callouts -- highlight a testimonial or key message mid-form

Statements in the form flow

On the canvas, a Statement is a node like any other field. It takes a position in the flow and respondents pass through it sequentially. You can place it between questions, at the beginning of a section, or before conditional branching.

Tip

In Card display mode, statements make great full-screen interstitial pages. Use them to break up long forms into sections with a brief intro before each group of questions.

Note

Because statements collect no data, they do not appear in submission results or workflow trigger variables.
