Perplexity is the AI search engine that returns answers with citations rather than ten blue links, and on Tiny Command it shows up as a small but distinctive action layer. Three actions: Chat Completion (a normal Perplexity Sonar API call, answer plus cited sources, with optional model selection between Sonar tiers), Async Chat / Deep Research (kicks off a longer-running deep research task that returns when the model has finished compiling), and Get Async Result (polls the status of a deep research run). No triggers (Perplexity is request-response). The connection uses your Perplexity API key. Common pattern: a workflow needs current, source-cited information mid-flow, a sales rep asks via Slack "what's the latest funding round for this company?", an AI triage step routes to Perplexity Chat Completion, and the answer plus citations come back to the Slack thread in seconds. For research-heavy workflows (competitive analysis, market sizing, journalist-style background-gathering), use Async Chat for higher-quality answers and Get Async Result to poll.
