Mixpanel

Mixpanel product analytics events

Mixpanel is the product-analytics platform — event tracking, funnels, retention, cohorts — the long-running competitor to Amplitude. Tiny Command exposes three actions, no triggers (Mixpanel is the destination for events; for "react to a behavioural cohort" workflows, use Mixpanel's Lexicon + Webhook destinations to push cohort entries to a Tiny Command webhook trigger): Track Event (push a discrete event into Mixpanel with distinct_id, event name, properties; the granular signal that drives funnel and retention analysis), Set User Profile (upsert user-level properties for People analytics), Import Events (Batch) (bulk-load historical events — useful for backfilling from another analytics tool or for daily batch-imports from a warehouse). The connection uses a Mixpanel project token plus the project ID plus a service account for the Import endpoint. The EU vs US region distinction matters at connection time (api-eu.mixpanel.com vs api.mixpanel.com).

Actions

Do anything Mixpanel can do, from a workflow.

Every action accepts dynamic inputs from upstream nodes, whether that's an AI output, a form field, or a search result.

ActionWhat it does
Mixpanel Import Events (Batch)Bulk-load events with historical timestamps. For backfilling from another analytics tool or for daily batch-imports from a warehouse.
Mixpanel Set User ProfileUpserts user-level properties used in People analytics. For "external state change → reflect in Mixpanel for cohort accuracy" sync workflows.
Mixpanel Track EventSends a behavioural event with distinct_id, event name, properties. The base server-side event hook — for events that don't fire from client SDKs (webhook-triggered states, async backend events).

Before you build

Three things worth knowing.

Filter at the trigger

Tiny Command counts a run the moment a trigger fires. Filtering early means only matching events spend your usage budget.

Authorize once, reuse anywhere

Connect Mixpanel once and every workflow on your account can use its triggers and actions. You don't have to re-auth per workflow.

No JSON to read

Every Mixpanel field shows up in the visual picker for downstream nodes. The raw payload is there for power users, optional for everyone else.

If we missed yours, ping support. We usually reply within an hour.

How do I connect Mixpanel to Tiny Command?
Open the Tiny Command workflow builder, drop in a Mixpanel node, and click Connect. Authorize Mixpanel once and any workflow on your account can use its triggers and actions. Most teams finish the connection in under two minutes.
What Mixpanel triggers does Tiny Command support?
Tiny Command focuses on outbound actions for Mixpanel today. Use Tiny Command's universal Webhook or Schedule trigger to start Mixpanel workflows, then run any Mixpanel action you need.
What Mixpanel actions can I run from a workflow?
3 Mixpanel actions are available out of the box, covering analytics operations like "Mixpanel Import Events (Batch)". Every action accepts dynamic inputs from upstream nodes, whether that's a search result, an AI output, or a form field.
Is the Mixpanel integration real-time?
Mixpanel actions execute synchronously inside your workflow. Tiny Command waits for Mixpanel's API to confirm before continuing to the next step, so downstream nodes can rely on the result.
Do I need to write code to use Mixpanel with Tiny Command?
No. Every Mixpanel trigger and action is fully configurable from the visual workflow builder. For edge cases that aren't covered, drop in a custom HTTP node and call any Mixpanel API endpoint directly.
How much does the Mixpanel integration cost?
There's a free tier you can start on without a credit card. Higher run volumes and team features come with paid plans. The Mixpanel integration itself has no per-app surcharge.
