VirusTotal

VirusTotal URL and file reputation

VirusTotal is the Google-owned malware analysis platform — submit URLs or files, get analysis from 70+ antivirus engines plus VirusTotal's own heuristics. Used by SOC teams, security researchers, and any workflow that needs "is this URL/file malicious" judgment. Tiny Command exposes two actions, no triggers (VirusTotal Enterprise has analysis-completion webhooks; configure pointing at a Tiny Command webhook trigger URL): Scan URL (submit a URL for analysis — VirusTotal queues a scan across the engines), Get URL Report (retrieve previous analysis results for a URL — cached results common). The connection uses a VirusTotal API key. For email-security workflows that check inbound links before delivery, link-warning systems for user-submitted content, or threat-intelligence enrichment for alerts, VirusTotal is the standard source. Free tier rate-limited (4 requests/min); paid Enterprise tier for production.

Actions

Do anything VirusTotal can do, from a workflow.

Every action accepts dynamic inputs from upstream nodes, whether that's an AI output, a form field, or a search result.

ActionWhat it does
Get URL ReportReturns the existing VirusTotal analysis for a URL, including engine-by-engine verdicts and an aggregate threat score. Cheaper and faster than Scan URL when the URL has been analyzed before.
Scan URLSubmits a URL for fresh scanning by VirusTotal's engines. Returns an analysis ID you can poll via Get URL Report once scanning is complete.

Before you build

Three things worth knowing.

Filter at the trigger

Tiny Command counts a run the moment a trigger fires. Filtering early means only matching events spend your usage budget.

Authorize once, reuse anywhere

Connect VirusTotal once and every workflow on your account can use its triggers and actions. You don't have to re-auth per workflow.

No JSON to read

Every VirusTotal field shows up in the visual picker for downstream nodes. The raw payload is there for power users, optional for everyone else.
