Synthesia
Synthesia AI video with avatar narration
Synthesia generates videos of AI avatars speaking a script — the production-quality version of the "talking head from text" pattern, used by L&D teams for training videos, marketing teams for personalised explainers, and product teams for in-app onboarding. Tiny Command exposes six actions, no triggers: Create Video (the standalone API — pick an avatar, pick a voice, pass the script, get a video back), Create Video from Template (the more common pattern — reference a Synthesia template designed in the Synthesia UI with merge variables, pass values for those variables, get a customised render), Get Video (poll status; returns the MP4 URL when ready), List Avatars, List Voices, and List Templates. The connection uses a Synthesia API key from the workspace settings (paid plans only; free trial doesn't expose API). Render latency is 2–10 minutes for a 1-minute video, depending on queue depth. Use the webhook callback in the Create Video request body to skip polling — Synthesia POSTs to your URL when the render finishes.
Do anything Synthesia can do, from a workflow.
Every action accepts dynamic inputs from upstream nodes, whether that's an AI output, a form field, or a search result.
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Create AI Video | Renders a Synthesia video of an AI avatar reading your script in the chosen voice and background. Generation is asynchronous, so pair this with Get Video to poll until the download URL is ready. |
| Create Video from Template | Fills in a Synthesia template's variables (text, images, links) and renders the personalized video. Perfect for 1:1 outbound, onboarding, or birthday-style campaigns at scale. |
| Get Video | Polls a Synthesia video by ID and returns its current status plus, once complete, a downloadable URL. Standard pattern is to loop this every 15 to 30 seconds after Create Video. |
| List Avatars | Returns the avatars available in your Synthesia workspace, including stock avatars and any custom personal avatars. Use it to render an avatar picker before generating. |
| List Templates | Lists the Synthesia video templates available in your workspace along with their variable schemas. Combine with Create Video from Template to render personalized variants. |
| List Voices | Returns the voices available for Synthesia avatars, grouped by locale and gender. Useful for letting end users pick the language and tone of the generated video. |

Three things worth knowing.
Tiny Command counts a run the moment a trigger fires. Filtering early means only matching events spend your usage budget.
Connect Synthesia once and every workflow on your account can use its triggers and actions. You don't have to re-auth per workflow.
Every Synthesia field shows up in the visual picker for downstream nodes. The raw payload is there for power users, optional for everyone else.
